Last night we learned of a tragedy in San Antonio, Texas. 48 immigrants were found dead inside an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer in an apparent human smuggling operation. Two others later passed away at the hospital. This was a horrific human tragedy; the loss of life and suffering is truly unimaginable. At this time it is important that we pray for the deceased and their families, and for the recovery of those who survived. This catastrophe reminds us that now more than ever we must commit to securing our southern border. Human trafficking is a horrible problem that we as a country face. We must make it clear that we will turn away immigrants crossing our border illegally. The journey to cross our border is extremely dangerous, both in Mexico and once in the USA and we must not only protect our own sovereignty but also stop incidents like the one that happened last night from ever happening again. The policies of this administration are failing us. They are directly responsible for this tragedy. Change is necessary, and when I am in Congress I will support more funding for border patrol. I am not anti-immigration. I am anti-illegal immigration. I think that we must cherish our legal immigration; we are the shining city upon the hill, and we should be proud of that. We should be proud that people want to come to this country because America is a beacon of hope across the world. I am steadfast in my support for legal immigration, and I think with an increase in funding for securing our border and border patrol in addition to increasing the number of immigrants we allow in each year we can help solve the Biden Border Crisis. -Stuart Ray Republican Nominee for Kentucky’s Third Congressional District

This morning the US Supreme Court returned the question of abortion to the states. As I have said before, personally I am a Catholic and pro-life supporter. I feel that this was the right finding. The question of abortion should be determined by the people’s representatives and not a federal court. Many states will have to make difficult decisions in the months following, and I call on all state legislatures to listen to their constituents. Today is a historic day. As a father who has helped raise five children, I understand that it can be challenging. It shows us that It is imperative now more than ever that we as a Commonwealth support women that are facing challenging decisions. We must improve our state’s adoption agencies; we must help find affordable child care for mothers, we must help address government-induced baby formula shortages, and we must be supportive of those mothers who are going through hard times. Our state motto is “united we stand, divided we fall” today we must unite behind the next generation of Kentuckians and support policies that will improve the standard of life for all. -Stuart Ray Republican Nominee for Kentucky’s Third Congressional District

Louisville, KY - Stuart Ray Republican Nominee for Kentucky’s Third Congressional District released the following statement today: “Yesterday Louisvillians went to the polls and cast their ballots for the candidates that they thought would best represent them throughout our Country, State and City. With all the votes counted, the people spoke and elected me to represent them and their ideals in the November General Election for Kentucky’s Third Congressional District. We are excited to move forward with our message of less government spending, lowering inflation, increased economic opportunities, and safety in our community. With skyrocketing inflation and Joe Biden’s approval rating at an all-time low, it is time to send a different voice to Washington to represent Louisville. Whether you live in the Chickasaw neighborhood or Prospect, in PRP or Anchorage, I am here to fight for you. The foundation of this campaign and the democracy that we live in is that every vote counts and every voice matters. We had a large group of strong candidates, and many of us had like-minded philosophies, so we knew this would be a close race. I want to thank them for the challenge, running upstanding campaigns, and I look forward to working with each and every one of them in the best interest of our city. One person has “represented” us in Washington for 16 years; and all we have to show for it is inflation at over 8% month over month, record-high gas prices, and a shortage of baby formula. He has “hand-selected” my opponent who will advocate for those same policies. Enough is enough. It is time for a change. I hope to be that change for all Louisvillians.”
